Chateau Latour 1988
Deep dark colour, slightly fading rim, powerful dense deep nose, classic cedar and cassis, little ironstone and earthy maturity. Palate big and solid, slightly hard fruit and tannin, very young still not forgiving, not sure if hard tannins will soften before fruits drops, hard metallic aftertaste. Needs time.

Very metallic tinny and earthy when opened, crumbling cork to midshoulder level, cork loose in neck, with 1-2 hours decanted black chocolate and torefaction aromas, black chinese tea and spice aromas, palate very smooth, elegant tannins, sweet dried rde fruits, very Bdx like flavours, tobacco and cigar box, med length, too old only a ghost of what itr was. Drunk 10 years too late.
Nose tight and closed, black peppery fruit, somewhat one dimensional, not very complex but tight closed and youthful
Nose soft and ‘wooly’ creamy chenin like damp cloth, soft stone fruits mature peach and apricot, little stewed, creamy light character honey character, some nuts and brioche, not a typical botrytis rich Rieussec? Not too long
Nose very rich, open and saffron flavoured slightly volatile and very intense botrytis, lilly flowers, nuts honey and confit apricots, palate sweets rich rich and full, slightly imbalanced with rich intensity needs more acidity.
