Armand Rousseau 1972
(lots of thick depo!) Very rich spicy and smoky nose, bacon fat, very meaty, oxo cube beef, incredible concentarion of fruit still for this age, very full and fresh, blackcherry and dried strawberry, salami and parma ham, med dark bowl with a wide rim of orange brick.







Nose closed and tight, needs some air, cracked black pepper quite subtle, fig and prune aromas, quite shy wine, soft fruits on palate. Not a blockbuster, very Rhone like, lots of fruitcake, does lack some length.
Very open ripe meaty, bacon fat and mushroomy sous bois, cranberry and dried strawberry, little fig and leather, sweet ripe core of fruit showing some oxidation medium length not too long but very good.
Nose still tight bramble like with black cherry aromas, fine full and very elegant, palate great thread a ripe blackcherry acidity, still young, long in length.
Very metallic tinny and earthy when opened, crumbling cork to midshoulder level, cork loose in neck, with 1-2 hours decanted black chocolate and torefaction aromas, black chinese tea and spice aromas, palate very smooth, elegant tannins, sweet dried rde fruits, very Bdx like flavours, tobacco and cigar box, med length, too old only a ghost of what itr was. Drunk 10 years too late.
Smoky deep complex wine, nose of blackcurrants and blackfruits, coffee and chocolate, black shoe leather, wonderful rich fruitcake nose with creamy vanilla wood, cedar freshness, finesse on palate.
Deep black colour, pure rosemary on the nose very herbal, concentrated black fruit, very deep firm tannins for its age, complex and youthful, very good palate, crisp acidity firm tannins elegant dark fruits. Long and complex.
Dark purple with red rim, nose full smokey and rich, fruitcake vanilla oak fresh blackcurrants, vanilla cream still youthful, firm and very fresh acidity, quite closed.
Medium pale colour brick garnet rim, nose deep full and ripe, but quite closed damson and hedgerow fruit, soft tannins and smooth palate, elegant but not very dynamic.
